Scott’s-eye view of Human Made

Posted on in News

Scott has provided a really interesting view of his first few months with Human Made.  Apologies to Scott for the delay on posting this – you can now catch Soccer.Fusion.net, the Word Cup site that Scott mentions, up and running.

Scott and Human Made

WordCamp Miami

10 June 2014 – I’m currently writing this from 30,000 feet in the air on my way to London Heathrow. I’ll be spending some time with a few of my colleagues at Human Made where we’ll be kicking off a new client project with 3 days of workshops. It’s hard to believe I’ve already been working with the team at Human Made for close to three months! It’s been a fantastic experience so far and from my first day of employment I’ve been heavily involved with the launch of an exciting site around the upcoming Word Cup.

Fusion.net, a child company of Disney/ABC and Univision, has recently launched Soccer.Fusion.net. Human Made worked together with Fusion to develop the site on WordPress and launch on the WordPress.com VIP enterprise platform. The site is designed to be a “second screen” experience for the upcoming 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Some neat features of the site include live blogs around each match, news articles, social feeds, video highlights, detailed rosters / standings etc. It’s been a privilege to work with the Human Made team on this project and I really look forward to using the site myself throughout the World Cup event.

You should also check out this video Fusion has put together to promote the website:

It’s been a really smooth transition into my new role as a project manager here at Human Made. I’ll admit that it’s been intimidating at times, but I love the challenge and being able to be a part of a team that continues to push the limits of WordPress in enterprise.

That’s all for now and I hope to have more blog posts with updates of my adventures here at Human Made in the upcoming months.
