WordCamp NYC
An international Human Made contingent of Tom, Leanne, Noel and Ryan travelled to the USA to attend WordCamp NYC 2014 on 1st – 3rd August. Never ones to sit idly the HM team got stuck into the event for a busy long weekend.

Leanne got involved helping out as a volunteer, working the reception desk and even compering some sessions.

Noel presented a session on Saturday called Beyond the Code. This was an inspirational talk grounded in Noel’s own experiences building WordPress products. He provided a practical guide to doing more with WordPress; developing yourself to work on things that matter, getting in the habit of shipping and also contributing back.

Ryan spoke on Sunday about The WordPress REST API. This has been an important project for Ryan which is due to be released in WordPress 4.1. Ryan discussed why it is significant and what impact it could make. He updated the current state of the API, explained how to start using it and also outlined the future of the API, plans for core integration and beyond.

Tom was busy as usual catching up with old friends in the WordPress community as well as new friends and clients.

Next stop WCEU in September – see our WordPress Community page for more future events.
