This position is closed

Human Made is a world-class development consultancy and product company. We’re based in the UK, but have team members (“humans”) spread across the world. We work with large clients (such as airbnb, News Corp, Skype, and many others), as well as running Happytables, a website builder for restaurants, serving thousands of client sites.

Your Role

We’re looking for a developer to work on our products and help take them to the next level. You’d be primarily working on Happytables, helping to maintain and grow the platform with the team.

Team Retreat – Lake District, UK, Summer 2013

Your day-to-day work would involve a mix of frontend and backend work, including partner API integrations and corresponding UI, working on the ridiculously cool front-end editor, and helping to roll out new features to thousands of clients. You’d be working with some exciting technology on a modern WordPress project and testing the waters to see just how far we can push it.

While you’d be working with the Happytables team, you’d get to hang out with all the humans via our internal P2 communication sites and our Slack chat. We encourage you to hang out and chat with others during the day, but if you’re one of the quiet types, we’re cool with that too. Keeping your team up-to-date on what you’re up to is key though.

Your Strengths

  • Intermediate to Advanced PHP/WordPress knowledge. (You should be able to work with existing codebases and extend them to implement your own things. Being able to architect large features is a plus, but not required.)
  • Intermediate to Advanced JavaScript knowledge. (You should have a working knowledge of the DOM and be able to work with libraries like Backbone and Velocity. Previous experience is a bonus, but learning as you go is fine too.)
  •  A passion for building great products.

Location

Anywhere! Human Made is a remote company working all around the globe. You’d be working directly with humans in Europe and Australia, so being near those (or willing to adapt to the timezone difference, at least when you start) would be ideal. We also have offices in Matlock, England and Brisbane, Australia that you’d be welcome to work from, but it’s not required.

Apply

Getting in touch is easy, simply email noel@hmn.md & ryan@hmn.md with whatever you deem valuable (portfolio link, CV, etc.), thank you!
