Screen Shot 2016-03-16 at 12.44.15I’m amazingly happy to announce the Siobhan McKeown has joined Human Made as our Events Director. We’ve been lucky enough to get to work closely with Siobhan through this last year as we partnered to run A Day of REST, the conference  we put on in London recently. Throughout our time working together Siobhan’s experience leading the organisation of some of the world’s largest WordPress events as well as her deep understanding of the WordPress project, its community and its history really shone through. As we start to plan what’s next for Human Made Events we knew we could only reach the level of quality we’d need to deliver with Siobhan at the helm.

Siobhan is an accomplished writer and author and has a deep interest in remote work process and culture. Experience that will impact almost everything we do and which will be invaluable as we continue to grow in both numbers and ambition. Welcome Siobhan!

Thanks for the lovely intro Tom! I’m thrilled to be joining the Human Made team.

Tom, Joe, and Noel are three of the first people that I met in the WordPress community, and over the years I’ve come to think of them as friends. Back when we met Human Made was just a handful of people based out of an office in Matlock. Now it’s a team of over thirty people, with employees all over the world.

I’ve always been impressed with both Human Made’s steady and thoughtful growth and its engagement with WordPress and free software, but over the past year, as I’ve worked closely with the team for A Day of REST, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know the company from the inside. The support and camaraderie is remarkable. Remote working doesn’t come without challenges, and the team is always sensitive to those challenges, creating an online working environment that is supportive, fun, and inspiring.

My role now is to expand our events – we’ve got big plans for A Day of REST, and a few other ideas in the mix which we hope will be valuable to the community. I’m excited to see our events grow, bringing people together to meet, learn, and network, but most of all I’m delighted to be an official part of the Human Made story.
