I’m super-excited to introduce Mike Selander who’s joined Human Made as a WordPress Engineer working as part of our agency team. Mike joins us from Old Town Media where he worked for 5+ years, most recently as Head of Development. A recent convert to the nomadic lifestyle, Mike is a perfect fit for our remote-first culture and is already making a big impact helping clients like Greenpeace and News UK bridge the gap between enterprise and open source. Welcome Mike!

– Tom Willmot

Thank you for the great welcome Tom and the Human Made team! I’m really excited to be working with such a talented family at Human Made. I’ve envied the work Human Made puts out for as long as I can remember and still have to pinch myself to be sure this is real!

Like Tom mentioned, I worked for Old Town Media, a local web and marketing agency out of Fort Collins, Colorado, USA where I spent the last 5 years before deciding to travel. I started out as a marketing intern having just graduated with my degree in business and entrepreneurship. Fast forward 5 years and I love my work building complex and interesting sites with WordPress. I am particularly passionate about writing clean, solid code, front-end performance, and testing workflows. The fit with Human Made and the scope of their work could not be more perfect.

WordPress and the community that spurs from open-source code have impacted my life for the better and I am always on the lookout to give back in any way I can.  Most recently I gave a talk at WordCamp London on bug-free code, but I’ve also co-lead local meet-ups and helped out in other various ways.

I look forward to contributing to the interesting and complex projects that Human Made excels at and learning even more as I go along!
